[Name]: Phantom F. Harlock
[Canon]: Cosmo Warrior Zero
[Age]: 26
[Gender]: male
[Canon Point]: post series

[History]: Harlock grew up in Heiligenstadt, a small town in Bavarian state of Germany. He took off for outer space in his teens, where he met his best friend Tochiro as well as Emerldaus. When the war with the machine men broke out he served in the solar federation navy. The war didn’t go well for Earth and ended with Earth under occupation by the Machine Men. Harlock emerges after the war as a space pirate in command of the Deathshadow. Harlock’s preferred targets were military supply vessels. Through this Harlock and his crew discovered the Metanoid presence within the Machine Men forces. During one of these raids the patrol ship Mirage tries to stop them. After a game of chicken where the Mirage’s engines give out on her Harlock chooses to spare the patrol ship. The Metanoid cabal tasks Earth with capturing the pirate and hands the job off to Captain Warrius Zero who manages to get his old command back the Karyu to do it.

While picking up his friend Tochiro on Heavy Meldar he finds the Town of Gun Frontier ready to hang his friend. Harlock has a brief face off with a Slyviana a bounty hunter who leaves after she realizes she can’t win even if she fights dirty. Harlock learns that the towns people aren’t really sure what started things but Tochiro was there and the town’s whiskey ended up ruined. Harlock understands apologizes and hands over all the liquor in the Deathadow’s galley to make amends. When Tochrio fails to turn back up Zero’s men try to capture Harlock only to be stopped by Zero. Harlock and Zero spend the rest of the night drinking and trading ideology.

Harlock’s next target Serract ended up a disaster due to being given misinformation about the settlement hiding weapons. Realizing the truth to late and utterly frustrated at making such a huge mistake he could do nothing by retreat.

Sometime after that he met back up with Tochrio to kick back that the boarding house. The house is built over a secret lab where Tochiro is designing a new battleship. Tochiro remembers he needs to get something for a new experiment and borrows the Deathshadow telling Harlock keep an eye on things while he’s out. Harlock takes the request way to seriously going as far as baring Zero into entry when he shows up with Emeraldus. They all end up fighting off the pirates who followed Emerledaus and Zero till the Deathshadow returns and to make quick work of them.

Harlock later organized a group of pirates and mercenaries to defend Technologa from the Hellcaste. When contacted by the Karyu’s first mate he happily gave her the location of the planet. He was not very thrilled when the Karyu arrives looking like a wreck. Harlock realizes the Karyu won’t formally join up with his fleet of defenders but it’s still likely going to end up turning the tide in the battle. In the end the Harlock ends up covering for the Karyu till she’s able to fire her ready her main canon. The Hellcaste defeated the Karyu and Deathshadow part ways to meet one day again in the sea of stars.

[Personality]:
Harlock’s an unusual pirate in that he's not into piracy for the riches but because it grants him the freedom to live is life on his own terms. After his experiences in the war he’s distrustful of bureaucracy, finding out about the Metanoid conspiracy has even more bias against the government. Piracy is also in his blood as his family has spawned as many pirates as it has distinguished military officers. He lives up to both backgrounds well. To him becoming a pirate after the war was the natural thing to do. The skull and crossbones practically doubles as the family coat of arms. Jolly Rogers are personalized banners they mean different things to different people. To a Harlock it’s a declaration to fight for your dreams till there’s nothing left but a bleached skeleton on some distant shore.

He’s first and foremost a man on his word. Once he makes a promise no matter how trivial he’ll keep it or die trying. He’s a bit overzealous sometimes talking requests like watch the house while I run out to the store to mean defend at all costs no one gets in. Personal risk means nothing when it comes to lending his allies a hand, to Harlock the challenge just makes life interesting. He’s very loyal to his friends and crew. He’s the first one to run into danger because he doesn't believe in abandoning a comrade. He'll also do so using the biggest guns he has, usually that means the triple shock canons on the Deathshadow.

He’s still a young man and as such his temper hasn't quite mellowed yet so he does a bit of a short fuse. He’ll jump head first into fight without knowing the details if his best friend is in danger. To Harlock’s defense some of his allies are trouble magnets. There’s a degree of brutal honesty when something bothering him, he’ll outright snap at people verbally. His favorite tactic as a pirate when everything else just doesn't cut it is to outright ram the enemy.

As a leader he places a lot of trust in his crew. When someone joins his crew he only asks they swear by his flag to fight as comrades to achieve their dreams. Beyond that he doesn't demand things of people. If someone has boarded his ship he trusts they will work to achieve their goals which in a roundabout way means doing what one can to make the ship run smoothly. If you’re doing that anything else is fair game when you have down time. When the situation arises he knows everyone will pull their weight. He also knows that as pirates the friendly ports a few and far between. The ship is the only place they have so the crew might as well make the place as welcoming as possible. Also at this point he’s just desensitized his first make building model kits on the bridge or having to step over sleeping crew members in the corridors.

He’s an honorable opponent in battle. He prefers to fight on equal footing and doesn't like finding out he's been fighting someone with a handicap. He goes into every battle resolved it could be his last. If he’s bested its going be because his opponent was better than him. He has no regrets. He doesn't like unfair advantages so he keeps away from ending up in fights with women and children. He gives the targets he raids the option to surrender peacefully, and people met on neutral ground are invited out for drinks. Challenges for one on one combat are always accepted. He’s not one to back down to any challenge. The second someone tries something underhanded he’s utterly ruthless in putting someone down.

He’s a decent person for an outlaw which utterly confuses many people because they take his being a pirate at face value. The people tasked with chasing in often are often influenced by his charisma and understand and like him despite being on opposing sides. It doesn't bother him that people assume the worst of him because of his outlaw status. He doesn't care what the world thinks of him, he can live with being considered a traitor to his homeland. He knows what he’s fighting for and he doesn't need recognition. He’ll be an outlaw if that’s what he needs to do in order to fight for a better future.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Harlock is a normal human he doesn't have any enhanced abilities.

Harlock’s an experienced sailor and captain for outer space knowing the ins and outs of navigating the sea of stars. He’s also takes command of the Deathshadow’s helm in battle. He knows exactly what his ship can and can’t do.
Harlock’s skilled with a saber; he’d hold his own against most opponents. He has deadly accuracy with a gun. He has an extremely fast draw speed. He's he's able to draw and shoot with his saber or gun in the instant before his opponent can get a shot off on him.

As far as weaknesses it’s making promises and his mentality to fulfill them or die trying. Or that he doesn’t believe in abandoning a comrade. This often leads him into walking right into traps.

[Limited Powers]:
Not so much powers for Harlock as restrictions on the weapons he has on him. In lejiverse Harlock's side arm the Cosmo Dragoon has been shown to punch though the armor on a space fighter plane. It’s going to be toned down to do nothing more than leave a bad scorch mark on most inanimate objects. It’s still as deadly to humans as any other gun if shot dead in a vital spot.

Same with the gravity saber newly released materials state it can cut through any substance with gravity waves that permeate anything. The Leijiverse has an annoying habit of over exaggerating the power Harlock’s signature weapons every time a new anime comes out. The cutting strength of a gravity saber won’t exceed the sharpness of a katana for the purposes of High Seas. It will still double as what is essentially laser rifle.

I realize quite a few of the crews are new to piracy here. I have just a few words of advice on behavior in this time. If you don’t want to get caught by navy ships don’t fly your Jolly Roger 24/7. I don’t have time It will also help in getting within canon range of your target.
Also no copying designs unless you’re part of a larger fleet. I reserve the right to sink ship I come across that’s borrowed my Jolly Roger.
